Our goal is to build an environment that inspires people to do the best work of their lives.
We hope that by doing so we can produce structural engineering designs that meet their client's constraints and make a difference to those that commission us.
Now First provide services and advice for all scales of projects, from the creation of multi million pound projects to single wall removals.
We provide structural engineering services for all building types, our projects range from small domestic to major projects of framed and multi-storey design.
We regularly design projects of reinforced concrete and steel framed construction, masonry, timber, and glass construction.
Design and drawing are carried out using CAD. On each project we provide drawings showing the existing construction and proposed works in the form of plans and sections as well as connection and junction details.
We provide all structural calculations to comply with the current Building Regulations for structural design purposes and submission to the local authority for Building Regulations approval.
We are interested in continually developing the professional skill set of all staff members. Through work undertaken we find new avenues of interest each year allowing even senior engineers to continue to develop their technical aptitude.
Graduate engineers are trained using the required attributes of a Chartered member of the Institute of Structural Engineers as a guide. It is likely that graduate engineers will reach a level of knowledge and ability to allow them to reach chartered status after three to four years of full-time work.
Staff members will gain the majority of the experience required to achieve this as part of their day-to-day responsibilities. Where it is not possible for a staff member to gain the required knowledge through their work, we organise regular CPD workshops to augment staff member's understanding.
